Thankful

Happy Thanksgiving!
I'm so happy that my first post with this fabulous new blog design was today, the day we celebrate all that has been given.

First of all I want to thank Chelsea at Yours Truly Designs, she is so awesome! I thought the whole process would be stressful & really honestly was not looking forward to it but Chelsea truly made it such a breeze! Thank you Chelsea! It's just so Chelsea (wink wink)!

Not only today but everyday I'm thankful that you paid me with the highest compliment and stopped by even if just for a glance! Thanks for the support!

Happy Thanksgiving! I'm off to burn a pecan pie and eat some dry turkey! LOL! I may even finish that quilt that is sitting there all pinned and ready to be sown together!

Monday

*CAUTION* Under Construction

I've got BIG news!! My blog is getting a professional makeover!! I can't wait to show it off!! I also have a ton of tutorials I want to share so keep your eye out for it!

Friday

High Five Friday

Photobucket

It's that time again...High Five for Friday! Five Fabulous things that happened to me....

1. Youngest daughter started preschool!!!!  Do I sound excited?! Who can say Momcation!!! What, What?? That's right I am one of those b*tches in Target that gets to walk around ALONE on a Tuesday morning with nothing better to be doing, free of all whiny, crying and temper tantrums over toys little beings! First day was hard for me, she has adjusted wonderfully but by Tuesday at 9:30 when I realized for the first time in almost 9 years, I could do whatever I wanted. It was AMAZING!

2. My husband decided to step up his game this week. Which is a big improvement from the last 3 weeks, just being honest!!

3. I can't quit making cloth pumpkins! Well I can't keep up with the demand. I made the big mistake of sharing my crafty ways and now I have a list of projects for friends and family members...ugh!

4. I have been trying to loose some of my gut. It seems to keep getting in my way as far as fitting into super cute clothes in my closet. After 2 weeks of committing completely to the program aka eating healthy, no junk food or Dr. Pepper, and exercising, I have lost a whopping....3 pounds!??! So in not celebrating form, Me and mini me made a treat!! Yummy!! & thanks Pioneer Woman for inspiring us to add more marshmallows!

5. We finally got rain this week. Normally not that excited about rain but after about 4 months of no rain you get excited when you see drops of water falling from the sky! At the end of the week, I am just happy to be alive and functioning, at least enough to be able to walk outside and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Sappy I know!

Saturday

Cloth Pumpkins

For the first day of Autumn, I decided to make something season inspired. Here's what I have been working on today. Cloth pumpkin...it doesn't get old and moldy. So when you have that "unusual" smell here in the next couple of weeks, you know its definitively because you need to clean not decaying pumpkins.

First I free handed my template and cut out 6 pieces.

Next I simply put right sides together and sewed down one side. Make sure that you don't start at the very top and don't sew to the very bottom. You need an opening in order to turn it right side out and to stuff!

Next you once again place right sides together and sew down one side until you have a complete pumpkin. Through the opening at the top turn it right side out then stuff to desired fullness.

Next I just grabbed the top points and twisted then shoved it through to the bottom opening. I sewed a straight stitch across the bottom. (Be sure that you include both the top and bottom opening.)

Then I went out in the backyard found a stick that was the desired length, tied a ribbon around the stick and you have a already dead pumpkin!! Now its your turn to try!!

Guess what? I found another one!! Dang I'm addicted. Not to drugs (well at least for now) but to finding new link-ups! It doesn't help that in the process of finding new link-ups I also find awesome new blogs!

So let's get to it...Top 5 moments of the week! Does it have to be PG? Can I throw in a R ratings here and there?

1. My theme song for the week. It should explain a lot! I've had a sh*t day, You've had a sh*t day, we've had a sh*t day!

2. The cat decided she wanted to leave home

3. A traveling musician stopped by the house this week

4. I found a monkey on my car (NO I didn't say on my back)

5. I finally found a preschool for my daughter to go to which means.....I'M FREE!!! Well at least for 3 hours out of the day!! I am overwhelmed at the possibilities for next week. I can't even begin to imagine life alone for 3 hours a day! I can now go to the bathroom by myself, blog by myself, shower by myself....just be by myself! Wait, I have to spend time with myself....I don't think this is going to be good.

Coffee Talk

Coffee Talk with Natalie Blair

Look what I found!! A new link up!!

What is your favorite kind of coffee? Iced? Hot? Frappe? Or are you a tea kind of person?
Well...don't hate me because I am beautiful but I don't drink coffee that much unless its a frozen caramel Rocketchino with a shot of espresso!! Then otherwise I am a tea kind of gal. Oh don't forget the honey! Sorry Pooh Bear.

What is your dream computer/laptop? And what kind are you using now?
My dream computer is one that comes up with creative, funny blogs for me with great pictures of myself that make me look super skinny! If I can't have that one then I guess I will settle for a purple Mac Pro laptop! Right now I can't complain too much. I have a Dell Inspiron One with the touch screen monitor.

Have you ever regretted a blog post? What did you say?
Oh have I ever!!! There are probably a few on my blog that I haven't erased yet! They mostly have to do with my hatred for my MIL, religious views or one of my PMS moments that I feel I have to share with the world!!

What is your favorite book?
I never really know how to answer this question don't get me wrong, I love books. But the last book that I truly loved would have to be Gone With the Wind or Scarlett or To Kill A Mockingbird. I just have never found any new books that touched me like those did. Yes I have read Fifty Shades of Gray. If he touch me, man oh man, I would not be on the computer. I would be in bed with him!

What's in your bag? (pictures too please!!)
I don't whether to be mad about this one or to thank you for this one! I did notice that I have replicas of a few things and many things that I really don't need! For instance, I don't smoke why do I have a lighter in my purse? Why do  I need 2 packages of Kleenex? Apparently I cry a lot! The trash I can definitely do without. I have a postcard from the vet reminding us of Mimsey's shots. I have a birthday card from my Grandmother to my daughter? Two make-up bags...I don't wear that much! Two pairs of sunglasses because I have four eyes! A prescription that I don't want to take and..... a collapsible cup!

I wonder to myself now, how long is all that stuff going to sit on the table!! I will let you know. Thanks for the great link up Natalie Blair!!

This Weeks Questions:

1. 5 items you can't live without on a daily basis(water, food, shelter, and clothes don't count)
Well let's see... definitely want my iPhone and my purple banana hair clip, don't laugh I know you used one way back in the day...if you had hair! My big comfy, feathery bed! I have finally accomplished my best sleeping unit & I am not leaving it behind. EVER! My sewing machine, I know lame but its my release. Finally, my make-up, I know funny coming from someone who only applies the bare minimum but without it...there are just no words to describe the horror.

2. All time favorite book? Why?
My all time favorite book is To Kill A Mockingbird. It was the first book that I read that I couldn't put down. Even now when I re-read it I just can't put it down!

3. Something you'd like to accomplish before the end of 2012?
I have a lot to accomplish so little time. I sound like the white rabbit from Alice in Wonderland! I would love to get my business that I have been dreaming of up and running. I would love to finish my coding certificate that I have been working on for 6 months. I would love to have enough downtime to start writing down all these great ideas I have bustling around my head.

4. If you could go back and relive any year of your life which year would it be?
I have read a few of these Q&A today and everyone seems to have some year that they can pin point as their greatest year. ME? I am still waiting...2013 that will be my year!

5. What do you wish people knew about you without you having to tell them?
I am quite funny! If you would give me a chance I can help that belly roll!

Sunday

Grateful the Most for Mims

Today I am feeling Grateful! Grateful for ALL the things that has been brought into my life not just the really good but the really awful too.

Being so grateful about things got me thinking about all the second chance I have been given and I started to really reflect on my own past life.

One that I really am the most grateful for is giving a second chance to our adopted dog, Mimsey the most. She only has 3 legs but don't tell her! She can out run everyone I know! She had a rough life in the beginning of her long 1.5 years she has been on Earth. Yes she is that young and so full of life so much so that at times I am envious.

So instead of being envious of her naive outlook on life, I am going to rejoice and draw from her love of just being alive no matter what part you have missing. Be it a leg or a piece of your heart or a piece of your soul or confidence or pride. Whatever is missing just be grateful for what is left.

Tuesday

It's Crafty to Rock a Rhyme!! It's Crafty!

So I didn't cuss at anybody today! Better than yesterday, those baby just kept flying out. I can't afford the cuss jar anymore so I have decided, its simple mind over matter.

That worked for most of the day even through my throwing the dish rag at my husband's head. Don't worry about his noggin, I'm not that good. What can I say I'm pretty...at least that is what I tell anybody listening.

As far as diet and exercise....it's out the door until the husband or my calorie nemesis goes back to work. He works too much so if he is home we sit and "veg". (BTW...why is veg my most used term consider "sitting in one place binge eating" deprived from vegetables...because we all come from vegetables?! Don't get me start on my vast conspiracy theories!)

Right now I'm trying very hard to come up with a quick easy idea for my daughter's birthday. Its one week from today and I promised her I would make her something special. She was feeling jealous of her sister. For her birthday I made her a pink Wonder Woman cape. Yes I said pink...I know what color it's suppose to be but you don't know my 4 year old! It was pretty awesome if I do say so myself. Don't be shocked I do possess a little of bit of crafty ways under these blond highlights. This girl has been known to sew...once again close your mouth...the flies.

So what fun easy crafty ideas do you have?

Sunday

Change

It's not so surprising that things change, it is so surprising that I haven't realized it until now! Like most people, I have been caught up in my own drama. Lots of drama, nonsense drama, crazy crazy drama. (Does it make it more dramatic if I write it a couple of times?)

I'm done with drama....well other people's drama at least for now. Now I am back to blogging!

Blogging for me is like that skinny pair of jeans in the back of the closet. You so want to wear them but it involves giving up Dr.Pepper, chocolate, and eating out and EXERCISING! I know "eating out" is like a cuss word, well if I am being honest so is exercising. You don't want to say it. It just happens! Or life happens and you say it!

SO here's to cussing in my skinny jeans!

Monday

Black & White

I can't believe the beautiful weather we are having! It makes for a great impromptu photo session.

Sunday

Rock'n'Roll Jesus...

I try really somewhat to not discuss religion. We all have our own opinions as to what "church" is suppose to be like. I ventured out of my comfort zone today and choose to attend a new "church". I have to be honest and tell you that I was really only going because a school friend of my daughter's invited her. I felt obligated to try and help her make friends outside of school so we went.

I woke up early on Sunday because the choices of times were 8:30,10 or 11:30. Well 11:30 with a toddler is not ideal and of course 8:30 is a no brainer, not happening! So I am up showered, dressed (with Coach purse & scarf in hand), make-up ON (I know WOW!), girls dressed, feed and ready to go by myself by 9:30! Hold the applause...I even put the "jewels" on, hair did and perfume!
We make it to the "church" located in a elementary school gym (not knocking it just sitting up the scene). After a 5 minute conversation about the safety of my child as well as all my info address, phone #, birthday, email, we get a tour guide to lead us to our room and all the while talking about their organization. I enjoyed it really I did! I am given all the stickers I need to get my child into and out of the kids room. (BTW the girl that invited her did not show up to church today?!)
I start following the crowd to this what appears to be a rock concert? There were 2 ladies the same age as me (maybe older but trying not to be rude on Sunday) standing at either side of the entrance. I stop with my 3 year old and say "Is this where are suppose to be?" Thinking that maybe it was the young peoples church and that the old more mature people's church was somewhere else. She looks at me confused and just gestures us inside. We walk into a pitch black gym with strobe lights and heavy metal music blaring! I really must have either blocked traffic or looked completely lost because a very nice lady came over with a flashlight to help.
I asked politely if she could help us find a seat close to the outside. She takes me up to the 2nd row right next to the speakers? I turn and head towards the back where I stumble across 2 seats in the back, music still just blaring. The lead singer was head banging? I look around there are all kinds of people young, old, married, unmarried, completely diversified. I wait out the song thinking ok maybe soon the video sermon would begin. The song ends, the lead singers asks everyone to stand. OK now we are getting somewhere. In starts the loud heavy metal blaring with strobe lights and fog? I grab my daughter and we left!
I did not wake up early on a Sunday to go to a rock concert! I am not putting on my make up and jewels carrying my Coach purse to be left in the dark so NOBODY could see me? Really?!? WOW!!!!

Saturday

Nature Outing...

The weather has been so beautiful as of late that we couldn't help but go outside and see if spring was starting to peek through the dreary dismal winter blanket. We only found weeds but we did manage to make a game of finding wild flowers! It was nice to get some fresh air and sunlight although now I can't wait for spring!

Friday

Proof

It's finally proof that
A. I exist!
B. I leave the house
C. Well I don't have a "c"!

After a little mini-vacay, I feel......refreshed!

Monday

Where did you go?

Do you ever have one of "THOSE" moments where you try to re-establish what once was? Only when you reconnect do you realize how much time has passed but you have remained the same? I finally logged on to this long forgotten blog to find a few of the blogs that I used to follow are:

A) No longer a working site
B) The owner of the blog has long forgotten about her blog...sounds familiar can't place just where
C) I don't think I have a c!

Maybe I can revamp the site! Maybe I can devoted it to idk anything besides....random nothingness. No probably not! I like random. Well guess I have a very good reason to find new blogs new interests new anything, right?
